North Vancouver Movers for Hillsides and Lonsdale Condos
From a Lower Lonsdale tower steps from the SeaBus to a Deep Cove home tucked up the mountain. We move both kinds of North Vancouver address, and we plan around the hills, the bridges, and the rain before move day arrives.
Two Municipalities, One Move Day
The City Has Permit Zones. The District Has Mountains. We Plan for Both.
North Vancouver is two municipalities that share a name and almost nothing else on move day. Every quote starts with a quick question: City or District.
Hillside Driveway Access
Most District addresses sit on a slope. Narrow driveways, low-clearance carports, sharp switchbacks up to the house. A 26-foot truck doesn't fit everywhere, so we size the truck to your address before we book the date.
City Curb Access & Permits
The City of North Vancouver rolled out a new Curb Access and Parking Plan in late 2025. Resident-only zones expanded, pay parking arrived on commercial streets, and a Temporary Street Use Permit is required to hold curb space for a move truck. We file it ahead so your truck has a place to land.
Bridges and Wet-Weather Pacing
Every cross-inlet move uses Lions Gate, Ironworkers Memorial, or the SeaBus. Each backs up at predictable hours. Add a real Pacific Northwest rain day and the move slows down further. We schedule loading windows around bridge timing and bring tarps and floor protection that hold up to the weather.
Our Process
A North Shore Move Day, Step by Step
Our crews live on this side of the inlet. The steps below are how a North Van move actually unfolds, from booking to handoff.
Address Survey and Permit Filing
We check your driveway grade, truck access, and bridge route before the estimate is final. If your address sits inside a City permit zone, we file the Temporary Street Use Permit at booking, not the day before, and not the morning of.
Strata or Building Coordination
Lonsdale-corridor condo? We book your service elevator window, file the Certificate of Insurance, and confirm the loading bay slot directly with your building manager. Hillside detached home? Skip this step entirely.
Weather-Ready Protection
Tarps, plastic wrap, floor runners, and shoe covers go in the truck regardless of forecast. North Shore rain rolls in fast, and your hardwood and your damage deposit shouldn't be the things at risk.
Bridge-Timed Move Day
We pick the route and the start time around the day's bridge traffic. Most North Van moves cross at least one bridge or the SeaBus. We arrive on time, work efficiently through the day, and finish before evening rush sets in.
Final Walkthrough and Handoff
Every room is set up. Every box is in its destination room. The driveway is clear, the permit is returned to the City, and the strata or building manager has sign-off in hand before we leave the address.

North Shore Move Questions
What Locals Ask Before Booking a North Vancouver Move
What's the average cost of movers in North Vancouver?
Most North Vancouver moves are billed hourly, with rates that vary by crew size, truck size, and time of year. Hillside addresses with steep driveways sometimes need a smaller truck and two trips, which changes the math. We give you the all-in hourly number at booking, with no fuel surcharges or hidden fees.
Do I need a permit to park a moving truck on a City of North Vancouver street?
In a lot of cases, yes. The City rolled out its Curb Access and Parking Plan in late 2025, expanding resident-only zones and adding pay parking on commercial streets. A Temporary Street Use Permit reserves curb space for your move truck and avoids a ticket on the windshield. We file the permit at booking so it’s approved before move day.
What's different about moving in the District of North Vancouver versus the City?
The District is 160 square kilometres of hillside neighbourhoods, mostly detached homes with driveways and no permit parking rules. The City is 11 square kilometres of dense, walkable, condo-heavy blocks with permit zones, service elevators, and Certificates of Insurance. Both are North Van. The move day looks completely different.
Can you move furniture up a steep North Shore driveway?
Yes. Hillside driveways and tight switchbacks are most of the District’s addresses, so we plan for them at the estimate. If the grade or clearance rules out a full-size truck, we use a smaller truck and a shuttle approach. We confirm the access plan with you before move day.
Do you move people across the Lions Gate or Ironworkers Memorial Bridge?
Yes. Most North Vancouver moves cross one of the two bridges or use the SeaBus route. Both bridges have predictable rush-hour backups, so we time the load and unload around the traffic windows. A cross-inlet move that’s badly scheduled can lose an hour to bridge timing alone.
How early should I book a North Vancouver move during summer?
For May through September, book three to four weeks ahead, longer for month-end or weekend dates. The North Shore fills up faster than the rest of Metro Vancouver because hillside addresses take more crew time and crews book out earlier. Mid-week dates in October through April have the most flexibility.
